Red Ribbon Express (RRE), is a unique HIV/AIDS awareness campaign for the rural areas to reach the unreached. It reaches about one crore people directly and millions of others through mass media and PR exercises. The media strategy for such a mega campaign is indispensable to achieve the kind of outreach that is expected from the campaign

HOW ARE WE REACHING OUT TO PEOPLE?

Six teams of cultural performers of eight members each are going to board this unique train called Red Ribbon Express

From the halt station, they will ride on their cycles to six different directions and each team will perform in four villages in a day. Therefore, in one day, all the six teams will perform in a total of 24 villages and will mobilize people from surrounding 96 villages.
 
This is how the program village will look like on the day of performance.

Various IEC material is distributed to the villagers giving information related to HIV/AIDS, service centres where they can get the check-up done, various organizations working on issues of health and HIV/AIDS etc.
But how to get people to come and visit the program place?

For that we devised a PRE-PUBLICITY PLAN

Leaflets and Posters are distributed
Banners are put up at the village which informs people that Red Ribbon express is coming and the teams are going to visit their villages and perform.

RRE fortnightly magazine is published which gives a status report of all the activities and highlights of the programs.

RRE brochure, which gives a brief of the campaign, its objective and outcome.

Pre-publicity press note is published in the local dailies.

Apart from this we have hired a PR and Process documentation team.

This team is responsible to cover the whole event. They are going to do the video coverage, still photographs and written document of the programs.They will also collaborate with the external mass media like television, radio, news-papers, magazines etc to ensure the coverage of the event.
